Miles to Row

It is never too early to discuss diversity, and all children should have access to books that not only reflect themselves, but reflect our diverse world. That’s the belief and the mission of Miles to Row, a unique children’s book club that features diverse stories, authors, and illustrators.

Carefully selected by parents and educators with the goal of representation, Miles to Row books can spark empathy, understanding, and lead to important conversations. When reading with a trusted adult, children can not only explore other worlds, but also ask the tough questions and engage in crucial dialogue. Miles to Row even provides a list of Talking Tips with every delivery to increase parents’ confidence in communicating around these topics. These conversations form the foundation of positive attitudes about race and diversity that promote a more just future.

Now more than ever, children deserve to see kids who look like them, their family, and their friends in their books and beyond. While the country continues to become more diverse, studies show that children’s books are not reflecting that diversity. We love that Miles to Row gives caregivers a convenient way to increase the inclusiveness of their bookshelves by offering subscription options. Choose between one to three curated books arriving at your doorstep each month.

We also love that with every purchase, Miles to Row donates a diverse and inclusive book to a child through one of our partner organizations throughout the US. Schools, libraries, and other nonprofits.

Family & women-owned, Miles to Row was founded with the hope that we can all do better – in our homes and in our communities – to start new narratives around diversity. The San Diego Parents of Twins Club is grateful to have Miles to Row as a featured sponsor for this year’s silent auction fundraiser.
