Owned by San Diego Parents of Twin Club members, ROAM Creative Play offers handmade, high-quality children’s climbers and furniture.
Like most family businesses, ROAM began when parents Graig and Nia recognized a need in their own household. Their young toddlers were increasingly active, and testing limits by climbing any furniture in sight. So Graig, an avid woodworker, set out to build a Montessori-inspired indoor climber that would allow the twins to safely explore their physical capabilities.
What began as a personal project expanded as friends and family saw the final result and requested climbers of their own. Then the pandemic hit, and with playgrounds and attractions closed, the need for indoor activity options increased. Graig and Nia saw an opportunity to “open for business” publicly, and have been blown away by the support and enthusiasm from families nationwide.
In addition to a climbing Triangle, Arch, and multiple Slide varieties, ROAM has recently expanded into child-focused furniture. A Montessori Open Shelf and Book Display have been added to the line – both with the quality craftsmanship and aesthetic appeal the brand is known for.
But perhaps the favorite ROAM product among club members is the Learning Tower. Foldable when not in use, lightweight, and sleek; the Learning Tower (also commonly referred to as a Toddler Tower or Kitchen Helper) allows little ones to stand independently at counter height to help bake, complete crafts, wash hands and more. Plus, parents of multiples will be thrilled to know the Learning Tower is available in a Single, or Doublewide to accommodate two children.
